Ethelene Dayton Smith

Franklin, NC - Ethelene Dayton Smith, age 85, of Franklin, NC passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at a Jackson County Nursing Center. She was born in Hayesville, NC, the daughter of Grover Bryan and Maude Kirby Dayton. She was married to Ellis William Smith who passed away October 01, 2010. She was a homemaker and a member of Longview Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Katherine Davis of Franklin, NC and Mary Nancy McDowell of Newborn, GA Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, J.D. Dayton and Clarence Dayton.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 07, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 07 from 1:00 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
