Eula Cloer Holbrook, 89, of Franklin passed away Friday, May 29, 2015. She was a native of Macon County and was the daughter of the late Rev. George and Flora Dills Cloer. She was married to James Weaver Holbrook who died in 1995.
Eula was a homemaker and worked in retail sales. She was an active member of Cowee Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was well known for her homemade pies.
Surviving are three daughters, Jane Wright and husband Joe of Flat Rock, NC, Margaret Duvall and husband David of Aynor, SC and Patty Sisson and husband Bob of Asheville, NC; one son, Jim Holbrook and wife Martha of Franklin, NC; four grandchildren, Chris Duvall and wife Natalie, Amanda Duvall Graves, Matt Holbrook and wife Aimee, and Kaleigh Sisson. Five great‑grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at twelve noon, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Cowee Baptist Church with Rev. David Powell, Rev. Jason Smith and Rev. Ronnie Branson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bruce Harwood, David Morgan, Rick Brogden, Mike Arnold, Bruce Wooten and Harvey Fouts.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:30 to 12:00, prior to the service, at the church.
