Frances Gertrude (Vinson) Bantum

Frances Gertrude Vinson Bantum, 80, of Highlands, NC, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024.

She was born October 5, 1944, in Macon County, NC to the late Ralph Furman Vinson and Effie Irene McClure Vinson. She was married to John Bantum, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bantum had worked and retired as a machine mechanic in the textile industry.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she loved gardening, her friends and her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Renee Rivas (Blue Odell) and Theressa Lynn Miller; a son, James Craig Diamond; sister, Linda McCall; brothers, John David Vinson, Jack Lee Vinson and Tony Curtis Vinson; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Betty Jean Conard, Barbara Louise Webb, Ruth Lewis and Norma Conard and a brother, Ralph Vinson.

A graveside service will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, at 11:00 am at Miller Cemetery, with Rev. David Vinson officiating.
