Fred L. Snyder

Austin TX - Fred L. Snyder, age 82, of Austin passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2008. He was born April 27, 1926 to parents John and Evelyn Snyder in Franklin, NC.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Martin Snyder, his daughter Freda (the apple of his eye), and numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by several family members from Franklin, NC. He was a long time member of the Austin Civitan Club, a graduate of Kilgore Jr. College and the University of Texas.

He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Fred was instrumental in organizing The Austin State School Parent Association where he also served as president. He was a member and past president of the Volunteer Services Council of the Austin State School. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd in Austin, Texas. Chaplain Talkington will conduct Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2008 in the Chapel of Austin State School, 2203 W 35th St. Austin, Texas 78703, (512) 454-4731.

Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
