Gene Siler Passmore

Franklin, NC - Gene Siler Passmore, age 51, of Franklin, NC passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Siler and Minta Bell Hicks Passmore. He was employed by Rhodes paving and loved to hunt; loved NASCAR racing and collecting NASCAR memorabilia and antiques. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was a member of Cartoogechaye Church of God.

Mr. Passmore is survived by his wife of 20 years, Bettie Sue Couch Passmore; a daughter, Amanda Witiak and husband Kyle of East Earl, PA; a step-daughter, Valerie Dills of Franklin, NC and a special step-daughter, Alyssa Birdsell; three sons, Stevie Mason, Gene Siler Passmore II and Gary Michael Passmore all of Franklin, NC and a step-son, Ray Dills and wife Amanda of Maiden, NC and two brothers, Willard and Dillard Passmore of Franklin, NC and 13 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Passmore.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Dryman and Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Aquone Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Harris, Willard Passmore, Harold Mathis, Randy, Kevin Passmore, Bud Elliott and Fred Russell.

The family will receive friends, Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Aquone Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Velva Bateman, 108 Bateman Branch, Topton, NC 28781.
