George Stanley Brendle

Franklin, NC - George Stanley Brendle, age 71, of Red Bud Lane, Franklin, NC passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 in a local hospital. Born in Manville, VA, he was the son of the late George Thomas and Nancy Belzie Franklin Brendle. He was owner and operator of Pizza Peddler Restaurant for 31 years; a member of Junaluska Masonic Lodge #145 and enjoyed shade tree mechanics. Stan was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margaret Cochran Brendle; three sons, Dale Brendle of Memphis, TN, Butch Brendle and his wife Sandra and Stacy Lionel Brendle all of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Ethel Osborne of Bryson City, NC and Wanda Ball of Franklin, NC; two brothers, Edward Brendle of Almond, NC and Dockie Brendle of Bryson City, NC. Three grandchildren, Kayla Alyse Brendle, Talyah Belzie Brendle and Sarah Carpenter, also survive. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Cody and a brother, Fonzie Brendle.

Memorial service will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Potts and Rev. Tim Hayes officiating. Junaluska Masonic Lodge #145 will conduct Masonic rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm, one hour prior to service, at the funeral home.
