Franklin, NC - George Jackson Hedden, 74, of Franklin, NC passed away, Tuesday August 20, 2013. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Howard and Ruby Stewart Hedden. He was Service Manager for Detroit Diesel; was a volunteer at Care Net, and worked the Franklin Flea Market for many years. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and led the Discipleship Class.
Mr. Hedden is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra Farthing Hedden; three daughters, Avis Hayes of Atlanta, GA, Jacqueline Yost and husband Charlie of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Sarah Wilson of Franklin; one son, Fred Wilson of Franklin; one sister, Willene Mason and husband Max of Niota, TN; two brothers, Jim Hedden and wife Sue of Franklin, and Wendell Hedden and wife Sarah of Andrews; two sisters in law, Helen O'Neal and husband Robert and Paula Brooks and husband Larry all of Otto; three grandchildren, Jonathan and Timothy Yost and Adam David Wilson and wife Jessica and one great granddaughter, Avery Nova Wilson.
A service in celebration of his life will be held Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 6:15 pm at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Fouts and Rev. Marlin Keener officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Care Net of Macon County, 130 Bidwell Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
