George Edwin Mcfalls

George Edwin McFalls, 76, of Bryson City passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late George and Marie Coggins McFalls. He was married to Annie Louise McFalls who preceded him in death on December 21, 2015.

Mr. McFalls loved to play banjo and guitar and he loved playing music at community events. He owned and operated McFalls Excavation and he was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by a daughter, Marie Dills (Keith); sons, Larry McFalls (Elaine), George Murphy, William Murphy, Larry Murphy, James Murphy (Fern), Mike Murphy and Joe Murphy (Connie); sisters, Ellen Matthews, Evelyn Mathis and Aileen Moss; a brother, Joe Alvin McFalls and numerous grandchildren, great‑grandchildren and great‑great‑grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two sons, Edwin Lee McFalls and George E. McFalls and two brothers, Eldon McFalls and Ellith McFalls.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ray Ball officiating. Burial will follow at Fall Cliff Cemetery, Cullowhee Mtn. Road, Cullowhee, NC. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 ‑ 1:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
