George Henry Miner

George H. Miner, age 94, of Franklin, NC, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Macon Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  He was the son of Charles A. Miner and Marion French Miner born in Boston, MA on Aril 29, 1921.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Charlotte A. Miner, of Franklin, NC; a son Matthew C. Miner and wife, Katharine of Wrentham, MA; a son, Lane D. Miner and wife Jennifer of Franklin, NC; one grandson Cory D. Miner and partner Sarah Collier and two great‑grandsons, Aidan D. Miner and Jack K. Miner of Franklin, NC; six nieces and seven nephews.

He had a love of the outdoors and loved to grow trees and flowers and take care of his property here in Franklin.  His past employment was a Smith and Wesson in Massachusetts, television repair and sales also in Massachusetts, and retired from Bailey’s General Store maintenance department on Sanibel Island, FL. After retirement, he worked at Macon County Supply in Franklin for several years.
