Georgia Farmer Mcconnell

Franklin, NC - Georgia Farmer McConnell, age 80, passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 at a local hospital. She was a lifelong native of Macon County, the daughter of the late James and Zoa DeHart Farmer. She was married to Thurman "Bud" McConnell who passed away October 1, 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of Black Mountain Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with Benjamin and liked talking to her friends on the phone.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Higdon and her husband, Bill of Franklin, NC and one son, Bennie McConnell of Franklin, NC; one granddaughter, Megan and one great-grandson, Benjamin; one sister, Louise Robinson of Morganton, NC and one brother, J.L. Farmer and his wife, Frances of Brevard, NC.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 10 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. John Raby officiating. Burial will be at Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery. Freddie McConnell, Wade McConnell, Jr, Elbert McConnell, Buster Tallent, Roger Hall and Scott Mason will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 10 from 1:00-2:00PM, one hour prior to service at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
