Gerald Gene Grant

Mr. Gerald “PaPa” Gene Grant, 86, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at his home. He was born on April 3, 1938, in Nantahala, NC to the late Carlene Owenby Grant and Noel Wess Grant. Gerald graduated from Nantahala High School and worked most of his life in the trucking industry working for several different companies. Throughout the years he enjoyed working and completing puzzles. He also helped build several churches in the area and was a member of Hughes Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Della Mae Mason Grant on September 8, 2017, and is also preceded in death by a grandson, Austin Grant and a great-grandson, Jacob Faircloth.

Surviving is his three children, Paula Grant, Terry Grant and wife Denise, Danny Grant and wife Teresa; six grandchildren, Natalie Faircloth, Derrick Grant and wife Ali, Ty Grant and wife Melissa, Hailey Graham and husband Cole, Collin Grant, and Chloe Grant; ten great-grandchildren, Joshua Faircloth and wife Makayla, Lucas Faircloth, Micah Faircloth, Makailyn Grant, Isaac Grant, Weston Grant, Mason Grant, Brennen Grant, Delaney Grant, and Rosalyn Grant; one brother, Guy Grant and wife Charlotte; and special caregiver, Priscilla “Sally” Danford.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the JC Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Hoyt Mason officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 12:30-1:45 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
