Gladys Marie Tallent Deitz

Franklin, NC - Gladys Marie Tallent Deitz, age 84, of Franklin, NC passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Macon County, the daughter of the late Carl and Arizonia Hasting Tallent. She was a homemaker and a member of West Franklin Baptist Church. She worked at Van Raalte and Belden’s. She loved reading and taking care of her boy.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Deitz and his wife Brigitte of Gastonia, NC, Jerry Deitz of Lutz, FL and Dennis Deitz and his wife Cindy of Franklin, NC; one sister, Shirley Peek of Franklin, NC; three brothers, James Tallent, Bill Tallent and Gene Tallent all of Franklin, NC; three grandchildren, Matt, Kevin and Katina; step-granddaughter, Kara Setser; great-grandchildren, Austin, Cameron and Kaila; great-step-granddaughter, Andi Jean Setser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Deitz; and a brother, Carl Tallent.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 12:30 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, one hour prior to the service, at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
