Gladys Walker

Franklin, NC - Gladys Walker, 106, of Asheville, NC formerly of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. She was born in Townsend, TN, on June 16,1907, the daughter of the late Andy and Alice Walker Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Walker, who died In 1945. Gladys was a homemaker and member of Wells Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Curley Walker of Concord, NC; two granddaughters, Patricia Knox and husband Jay of Concord, NC and Melissa Steiger and husband Bob of Phoenix, AZ; six great granddaughters, Hannah, Hailey, and Shae Knox and Emma, Norma, and Rebecca Steiger, and cousins Cullen and Carolyn Davis of Chattanooga, TN and J. S. and Ann Walker of Townsend, TN. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Cook, Jackie Cook, Cullen Davis, Jackie Byrd, Jerry Holden and J.S. Walker.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
