Gladys Waldroup Wilson

Franklin, NC - Gladys Waldroup Wilson, 93, of Franklin passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015. Born in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Bernice Henson Waldroup. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pearson Andrew Wilson.

Mrs. Wilson was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She had worked with WPA at Patterson Field during WWII and had worked as a seamstress for Van Raalte. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Clay County.

She is survived by one daughter Fushia Wilson of Franklin; three sons, Andy Wilson and wife Angela of Cleveland, GA, Jerry Wilson and wife Jackye of Franklin and Dick Wilson and wife Dawn of Waynesboro, VA; two sisters, Virginia Cooper of Winder, GA and Alice Hilton of Sautee, GA; 12 grandchildren, Keshia, Jason, Darrin, Melissa, Daphne, Chasity, Douglas, Jill, Jamie, Joey, Danny and John, 14 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters Glenna Monkus and Merrill Monkus and five brothers, Harold, Brance, Roy, Coy and Horace Waldroup.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 2:00 in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Ledford's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randall Monroe, Joey Wilson, Killian Carpenter, Jason Carpenter, Darrin Carpenter and Tony Mingacci. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 31st from 6 8:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
