Grady Joyce Greene

Franklin, NC - Grady Joyce Greene, age 79, of Pat Rogers Rd., Franklin, NC, went to be with his Lord, Monday, December 20, 2010. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Homer Calfax and Esther Reece Greene. He was married to Carolyn Jean Houston Greene for 53 years. He was a weight and balance operations agent for Eastern Airlines; a Veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean War; he was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where he was very active and held various positions in the Church incuding singing in the choir, a member of the finance committee and the building committee as well as being a member of Patton String Band.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Joyce Greene Daum and husband Rick of Austell, GA and one son David MacLane Greene and wife Connie of Newnan, GA. Two grandchildren, Zachary Daum and Sean Greene also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister Janelle Sanders and two brothers, Homer L. and Max Greene.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Newell officiating. The Franklin VFW Post #7339 and American Legion Post #108 will conduct military rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, 1 hour prior to the service, at Memorial United Methodist Church.
