Grady Jones

Franklin, NC - Grady Jones, age 90, of Franklin, NC passed away Friday, January 4, 2013. Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late George and Lola Hastings Jones. He was married to Effie Mae Martin Jones who died in 1992. Mr. Jones retired from the Town of Franklin where he was an equipment operator. He love gardening, tinkering on small engines and raising livestock. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by two sisters, Ethel Waldroop and Rosa Lee Williams, both of Franklin, NC; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three daughters, Mildred Sue Jones Crisp, Margaret Simonds Jones and Joann Simonds Maney; one son, Douglas Grady Jones, and eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Ballew and Rev. Melvin Reed officiating. Burial will be in Coweeta Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eli Green, Ned Holbrooks, Justin Farmer, Chris Rhinehart, James Jones and Zack Jones. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 171 Hospital Road, Highlands, NC 28741.
