Grover Franklin Kennedy

Highlands, NC - Grover Franklin Kennedy, 72, of Highlands, NC passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013. Born in Chatham County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Athelene Moody Kennedy. He was a shrimper in Florida, and a landscaper in Highlands. He was a member of Highlands United Methodist Church.

Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife of nine years, Barbara Kennedy; one daughter, Cynthia Marie Flowers of Franklin; one son, Duane Kennedy of Highlands; one brother, Jerry Kennedy; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to hisparents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Kennedy.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11:00 am at Highlands United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Christy and Rev. Beth Bowser officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, at the church.
