Franklin - Harold R. Pickens, age 71, of Piney Grove Road , Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, in an Asheville Hospital. He was a native of Macon County, the son of the late Marvin and Edith Hurst Pickens. Mr. Pickens was a retired businessman, He was co-owner of Franklin Discount Furniture, Franklin Discount Carpet and North End Chevron.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy Miller Pickens, two sisters Lucille McCall and her husband Ken, and Kathy Rogers and her husband Michael of Franklin.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 23rd, in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Revs. David Powell and Lloyd Fish officiating. Burial will be in Cowee Baptist Church Cemetery. Rick Tallent, Randy McCall, Rusty McCoy, Edwin Grant, Jerry McCall and Shane Ramey will be pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken McCall, Michael Rogers, Mark Albrecht, Charles Henderson, Lee Garner, Carroll Tallent, Steve Miller, John Roberts, Vaughn Ramey and Tim Owen.

The Family will recieve friends from 12 to 2:00PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
