Helen Elizabeth Nelson

Franklin, NC - Helen Elizabeth Nelson, age 89, of Walnut Cove Road, Franklin, NC passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Myrka, Finland, the daughter of the late Erland Tuisku and Lydia Maenrinne Tuisku. She was a homemaker and past president of VFW Post 4287 Auxiliary in Orlando, FL.

She is survived by three sons, Michael E. Nelson and Roger W. Nelson of Franklin, NC and Martin G. Nelson of England; two brothers, Sakri Tuisku and Seppo Tuisku of Finland; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church Ministry Hall. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to VA Hospital of Asheville, c/o Mike Nelson, 112 Walnut Cove Rd., Franklin, NC 28734.
