Franklin, NC - Helen Wallace, 89, of Franklin, NC passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013. Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Belvin Norton and Willie Conley Henry. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. J. "Billy" Wallace.
Mrs. Wallace owned and operated Wallace Grocery. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved to bake pound cakes. She was a member of Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by one daughter, Linda Armes and husband Paul of Nashville, TN; one son, Jerry Wallace and wife Brenda of Franklin; one sister, Dorothy Moore of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Stephen Armes and wife Karla, Nathan Armes and wife Beth and Christie Higdon and husband Todd and four great grandchildren, Erik Armes, Tanner Higdon, Ryan Armes and Lindsey Higdon. The family would like to express their thanks to the caregivers, Clara Myers and Joyce Locust.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. David Crunkleton and Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Moore, Billy Waldroop, Ronnie Norton, Stephen Armes, Nathan Armes and Todd Higdon.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 470 Louisa Chapel Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
