Jackie "Big Jack" Ray Mason, Sr.

Jackie Ray (Big Jack) Mason, Sr., 67, of Franklin, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017. He was born in Macon County to the late Earl and Sadie Stockton Mason. He was retired from the Town of Franklin. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He always helped, supported and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Holt and husband Jim, and infant brother, Carlas.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Wanda McKinney Mason, one son, Jacky (Cooch) Mason, Jr. (Jeani Arnett) of Franklin; one step-son, Jon Pitts (Lisa) and one grandson, Jared Pitts all of Newport News, VA; one brother-in-law, Carter McKinney of Spruce Pine, NC; one nephew, Joey Holt, two nieces, Marie Ledford (David) and Melissa Bryant (Rodney); two great-nephews; two great-nieces; and three great-great nephews; one aunt, Rebecca Mason and a host of cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm, with visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the Memorial in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. David Hastings and Jon Pitts.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
