James Garfield Coggins

Lowell - James Garfield Coggins, 74, of Lowell, passed away April 9, 2012, at Stanley Total Living. He was born September 19, 1937 in Jackson County, son of the late Vaughn and Thelma Tippett Coggins. A funeral service will be held 12 noon on Thursday at North Gaston Church of God, Dallas, officiated by Rev. Ted Smith and Rev. Lathan Rollins. The family will receive friends 11-12 prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont.

He is survived by: two sons, Bruce Coggins and wife, Margie, Henry Coggins; two brothers, Coleman Coggins, Walter Coggins; two sisters, Mary Bates, Barbara Tallent; two grandchildren, Catherine Runge and husband Keith, Christopher Coggins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: wife, Belva Jean Coggins; sister, Audrey Arnold.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
