James "Jim" Frank Young

Franklin, NC - James "Jim" Frank Young, age 80, of Franklin, NC passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014. He was a life long resident of Macon County, the son of the late Leslie J. and Ruby Henry Young. He was US Navy Veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service for 25 years. Jim was a member of Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he loved to travel.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Evitt Young; a son, Randy Rogers and his wife Lori of Franklin, NC; two daughters, Vicki Peek and her husband Wesley of Franklin, NC and Kaye Cabe of Otto, NC; a brother, Jerry Young and his wife Betty of Franklin, NC; grandsons, Mark Peek, Michael Peek and Jeremy Cabe; great grandsons, Parker Cabe, Brennan Cabe and Elias Peek. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Darrell Young.

Funeral services will held Tuesday, September 9 at 2:00 PM at Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Haire and Rev. Neil Moore officiating. Mark Peek, Michael Peek, Jeremy Cabe, Carl Mincey, Morlan Bowman, Jack Henry and Gerald Woods will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 9 from 1:00 2:00 PM, one hour prior to service, at Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church.
