Franklin - James Silas Green, age 95, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010 at a local hospital. He was a native of Macon County, born May 6, 1915 to William Hillard and Hattie Mae Beasley Green. He was married fifty-five years to his wife, Eula Shepherd Green who passed away in 1993. His second wife, Ida Feltner Green preceded him in death in 2008. He was preceded in death by four sons, Thomas Paul, J. B., Rufus, and Ira: one daughter, Hattie Josephine Green; six brothers and six sisters. He was a logger and a miner and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed nature such as camping and just being outdoors.

He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Wilkes and her husband, Ellis and Florence Bulla, a son James David Green and his wife Janie; three grandsons, one granddaughter, three great-grandsons; step-sons, Frank, Paul, and Charles Feltner; step-daughters, Hazel, Meadie Mae, and Rosie Feltner. A number of step-grandchildren also survive. He is also survived by a special lady, Nina, who was a wonderful caregiver and loved him very much.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Cloer officiating. Pallbearers will be Wesley Wilkes, Mitchell Wilkes, Danny McClain, Junior Burch, Eddie Raby and Donald Messer. Burial will be in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
