Franklin, NC- James Leroy Holland, age 69 of Franklin, NC passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 in a Jackson County Nursing Home. Born in Cherokee County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Kerma and Mavis Young Holland. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army; an avid musician and was of the Baptist faith. He was a long haul truck driver and was an off-shore well driller.
He is survived by two daughters, Teresa Holland and Angie Holland both of Waterford, MI; one son, Jimmy Holland of Waterford, MI; four sisters, Janet Holland, Kathy Moffitt and husband Don, Loretta Holland and Shelby Holland all of Franklin, NC; two brothers, Ronnie and Phillip Holland both of Franklin, NC; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers Wade Holland, Gilbert Holland and Michael Holland.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Moffitt officiating. Burial will be at Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery, c/o Doug Thompson, 287 Sugarfork Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
