Otto, NC - James Leslie Holt, age 78, of Otto, NC passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Dade County, Florida, the son of Jesse James and Loraine Maxwell Chastain Holt. He was US Army Veteran and was retired from the Florida Department of Transportation. He loved to garden and farm and was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall Church.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susie Bonnell Holt; daughters, Debra Bryan of Mtn. City, GA and Elizabeth Ann Eastman of Orange Lake, FL; sons, John Daryl Holt of Branford, FL and James Edward (Eddie) Holt of Bell, FL, William Roy Smith of Fairbanks, FL and John Matthew Smith of Trenton, FL; one sister, Janice Lea of TN; one brother, Lawrence Holt of Miami, FL. Nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 11 at 2:30 PM at Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall Church with Brother Dan Holman officiating. Burial will be held at the Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery in Bell, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Angel Home Health & Hospice, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
