James "Jimmy" Michael Strahan, Iii

James (Jimmy) Michael Strahan III, 68, of Highlands, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2022. He was born in Tampa and he attended local schools including Mabry, Coleman, and Plant High School. After graduation, he attended Florida State University, the University of Florida and he went on to graduate from Western Carolina University.

After college, Jimmy lived in Highlands, then relocated to Destin, Florida where he and Susan raised their family, and ultimately returned to his beloved Highlands in 2006. He was a talented golfer and an avid sports fan, rooting for the Florida Gators and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  He was a long-time member of Community Bible Church.

He was predeceased by his father James (Jim) Strahan, Mother Edwena M. Haber, and brother Tommy Strahan. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Susan, a son Michael (Camille), a daughter Paige, a grandson Chris, his sister Patricia Strahan Thornton and numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to thank his caregivers Marc and Janis for their continuous love, support and friendship.

A visitation will be held at Community Bible Church in Highlands on Friday, July 1 ^st at 3:30pm, with a service to follow at 4:30pm. Pastor Gary Hewins will officiate.
