James Jerrell Pendergrass

Mr. James Jerrell Pendergrass, 79, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

Jerrell was born July 23, 1946, in Macon, County, Nantahala Community, to the late C.L. Pendergrass and Hazel Mason Pendergrass.

Jerrell was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a craftsman and a jack of all trades; he enjoyed staying busy working in his shop and watching TV. Jerrell loved Nantahala and lived there all his life. Most of all he loved and cherished his family and always enjoyed visiting and telling stories with them.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Helen Louise Pendergrass; two sons, Jamie Pendergrass and Michael Pendergrass (Leeann); a grandson, Trevor Coy Pendergrass (Taylor); a granddaughter, Jordan Pendergrass; and his brother, Stanley Pendergrass (Debra).

In addition to his parents, Jerrell was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Pendergrass.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Aquone Baptist Church.
