James Larry Sutton, 83, of Franklin passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Avery and Ester Green Sutton. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a lumberjack and he logged in Alaska and Washington. He loved to do woodworking and built his own home. He was a member of Tellico Baptist Church.
Mr. Sutton is survived by his wife, Roseann Sutton; daughters, Jody Bernard (Ron), Chris Rosengren (Ron) and Angela Black (Michael), Tammy Sutton Shuler and Tracey Apple; sons, Anthony Hinterlong and Andrew Hinterlong, Tommy Sutton and Tim Sutton; 16 grandchildren and 12 great‑grandchildren; a sister, Mary Parris, and four brothers, Robert Sutton, Harry Sutton, Michael Sutton and Dewey Sutton.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Morris Tippett and Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Tellico Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 ‑ 7:00 pm at the funeral home and Thursday from 1 ‑ 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tribute Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105‑1942.
