Franklin, NC - James Wesley Carver, age 81, of Frazier Road, Franklin, NC, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 in an Asheville hospital. He was a native of Jackson County, the son of Wayne Carver and Sarah Roseline (Casyel) Carver McDonald. He was a farmer and carpenter. He attended the Jehovah Witness Church. He loved to play the guitar and harmonica.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ethel L. Passmore Carver; four daughters, Lillie Parris and her husband, Buddy of Whittier, NC, Bessie Cooper of Asheville, NC, Barbara Franks and her husband, Edward of Sylva, NC and step daughter Evanell Jenkins and her husband, Rick of Franklin, NC; five sons, Howard Carver of Franklin, NC, Terry Carver and his wife, Gail of Gastonia, NC, Doyle Carver and Dale Carver and his wife, Wilma of Franklin, NC, David Carver and his wife, Cindy of Highlands, NC; one sister, Bonnell Wilson of Sylva, NC; three brothers, Hayes Carver and Bill Carver of Franklin, NC and Sherman Carver of Mount Holly, NC. Ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Buck Cooper, a daughter-in-law, Marie Carver, a sister, Clara Childers and brothers, Andrew, Frank and Kenneth Carver.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 9 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery. Scotty Cooper, Wayne Carver and Jeffrey Carver, Wesley Carver, Jordey Smith ,and Corey Baldwin, will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 8 from 6:00-8:00PM at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
