Janet Carolyne Holland

Janet Carolyne Holland, 80, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She is preceded into death by her son, Bruce Tallent and is survived by her son Steve Tallent, her daughter, Sandi (Ryan) Mullins, sisters, Loretta Holland and Shelby Holland, brother, Phil Holland, granddaughter, Megan (Matt) Hill along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who became family.

A native of Macon County, she graduated from Franklin High School in 1962 and went on to attend Warren Wilson College, majoring in English.  Although she didn't obtain a degree, she maintained a lifelong love of learning and words.  She was a voracious reader with political thrillers and mysteries being her favorites. She enjoyed a varied, expansive array of music from Gershwin to Muddy Waters to her forever favorite, Led Zeppelin.  She helped to influence more than a few in the direction of good music.  She enjoyed watching tennis and car racing, being an ardent, loyal fan to her favorites.

She was brilliant and funny, kind and caring. She was honest and brave and true.  She had the sharpest wit and the brightest laugh, and she will be missed forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. Visitation will follow afterwards.
