Janett (Gribble) Blanton

Janett Gribble Blanton, 77 1/2 years, went to be with her Lord on June 21, 2017. She was a great lover of her Lord. Janett was born in Macon County, September 6, 1939, to Willie Mae Gribble and Ted Ayers Gribble.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Carl Blanton; son, James Richard Blanton (Rhonda); nephew, Mike Meadows; grandson, Russell Joel Blanton (Kristi); great granddaughter, Natalie Brooke Blanton and sister‑in‑law, Alecia Passmore.

Janett spent 50 years teaching Sunday school and 20 years as church clerk at Longview Baptist Church.  She loved to cook, make jams, jellies and cakes.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Longview Baptist Church with Dr. Thad Robert Dowdle and Rev. Tom Nahlen officiating. A private committal will follow. Deacons of Longview Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 ‑ 2:00 pm, prior to the service at the church.
