Janie Nicholson

Franklin, NC - Janie Nicholson, 85, of Franklin passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Isabelle Parker Coward. She was married to William J. "Bill" Nicholson who preceded her in death on March 14, 2011.

Mrs. Nicholson was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and took great pride in her family. She was a member of Johns Creek Baptist Church and attended Tessentee Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Tommy Nicholson and wife Lynn of Franklin; one sister, Lila Jo Queen of Sylva; one granddaughter, Kimberly Ledford and husband Ben; two great granddaughters, Hannah and Macie and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Ashe and two brothers, Duane Coward and Leroy Coward.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Breedlove, Joe Breedlove, Bill Queen, Ricky Queen, Warren Henry and Nelse Bates. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 8:00 pm at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
