Clarence Javan "Boomer" Bryson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Solace Hospice in Asheville, North Carolina. He was born on June 19, 1939, in Jackson County and remained a lifelong resident of the Yellow Mountain community where he built a life rooted in family, hard work, and deep community ties.

Javan graduated from Glenville High School and went on to become a skilled carpenter, building numerous homes throughout the area. He was well known for his craftsmanship, his resourcefulness, and his fondness for "trading" just about anything. More than anything, he cherished his family and the life he created with them.

He was the son of the late Clarence Haven Bryson and Thelma Bryson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Jessica Bryson, and his brother, Marshall Bryson.

Javan is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 66 years, Minnie "Wence" Bryson, whose love and partnership were the foundation of his life. He is also survived by his son, John Bryson, and daughter-in-law, Connie.

He took great pride in his family, especially his great-granddaughter, Ayaisha Grace Driver of whom he was incredibly proud, as well as his great-grandsons, Maleek and Kaiden Littlejohn. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on through them.

Javan will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering commitment to those he loved, and the lasting impact he made on his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Stewart Cemetery with Rev. Keith Ashe officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday, May 2,2026, at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home.
