Jay Larry Owen

Jay Larry Owen, age 60, of Richlands, NC, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017.  He was born in Corvallis, Oregon, the son of the late Olan and Dorris Gribble Owen.  He was retired from the US Air Force, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Sean Matthew Owen.

He is survived by his wife, Rene Schoenberg Owen; daughter, Rebecca White of Jacksonville, NC;  son, Jay Robert Owen of Franklin; five grandchildren; sisters, Daylon Plemmons of Franklin and Virginia Owen of Wolf Mountain, NC.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Union United Methodist Church, with Rev. Janet Green officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by US Air Force Funeral Honor Guards.
