Jennifer Anderson, 54, passed away peacefully at her home high in the mountains of Western North Carolina on November 19, 2016. Before her untimely passing, Jenny forged a 54 year trail of laughter, generosity, compassion and wisdom. Although a less than average life span, Jenny did not live an average life. She was an incredible woman, wife, mother, sister and friend.
She and her twin sister born on April 2, 1962 to Donald and Margaret Kinsey in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in New York and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Cortland State University. In 1985, she met her match, Larry Anderson while working her first job as a park ranger for the National Park Service in Tennessee. Larry swept her off her feet, and they married in 1986. Her greatest accomplishment was her son Ben, born in 1992. Jenny was world renowned to everyone for her competitiveness. She was an avid sports fan, and her many years as a volunteer soccer coach afforded hundreds of children to her unique talents and wisdom about the game. She never lost a game of HORSE or any other game for that matter. She loved to cook, hated to bake, and had a beautiful garden. She was a champion dog rescuer, and loved all creatures of the earth. She always told you the truth even if it was what you did not want to hear, and never held back her opinion. Despite the intense hardship she faced every day, she gave us words of encouragement and comfort that kept us all in line. She taught us all how to live in the moment because that is all we have.
Jenny will be sorely missed, and is survived by her husband Larry Anderson, her son Benjamin Anderson, her mother, Margaret Kinsey, her twin sister Mary Sherman (John), brothers Tim Kinsey (Debbie), Mark Kinsey, Angie Shadke (Larry),nieces and nephews, Melissa Goff, Kristopher Kinsey, Katie Kinsey and Zackery Sherman. She is also survived by her fierce and loyal canine companions, Monkey‑G and Buttercup, and their cousins Button, Daisy, Sweetie, Buddy and Russell. She was preceded in death by her father Donald Kinsey and her infant brother John. All whom loved her dearly will never forget her will to survive, her incredible sense of humor and her adventurous spirit. Jenny requested that donations in her memory be made to The Elephant Sanctuary, Hohenwald, TN, 38462.
