Jerry Lester Carpenter

Mr. Jerry Lester Carpenter, 72, of Otto, NC passed away Friday, January 5, 2024. Jerry was born September 7, 1951, in Macon, Co. NC to the late Calvin Carpenter and Nora Belle McConnell Carpenter.

He worked for Burlington Industries and Caterpillar before he retired. He was a member of Coweeta Baptist Church. Jerry loved the outdoors, red birds, and gardening where he grew the best tomatoes in Otto. He loved to run his weed eater, read, and hike. He also loved the 4 adopted dogs that would come and visit him.

Survivors include his fiancee', Geraldine Ledford of Franklin, NC; a sister, Janet C. Campbell (Ronald) of Otto; a brother, James Carpenter (Margaret) of Otto, NC; nieces and nephews, Ava Ammons, Christofer Carpenter, Isaac Campbell, and Erin Keener; several great nieces and nephews, Teegan, Drew, Kylee, Abi, Asa, A.J. and Cayden; Close friends, Mike and Danielle James.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a niece, Amy Carpenter.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Davis Hooper officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Burial will be private.
