Jerry Ralph Waters, Sr

Franklin - Jerry Ralph Waters, Sr., 66, of Franklin, NC passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014. He was the son of the late Ralph and Hazel Hampton Waters.

He was retired from Verizon Telephone Company; was a US Navy Veteran serving during Vietnam and was a member of Franklin VFW Post #7339, American Legion Post #108 and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 994.

Mr. Waters is survived by his wife of 49 years, Syble Cowart Waters; one daughter, Tammy Welch and husband Mike of Franklin; one son, Jerry "Jed" Ralph Waters, Jr. of Franklin; two sisters, Nancy Seagle and husband Donnie and Gail Elkins and husband Dan all of Franklin; three grandchildren, Josh Welch, Jake Waters and Jessa Waters and one great grandchild, Jaxon Waters.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 31st at 11:00 am at the Veterans Memorial Park, located on Highway 441 South, Georgia Road, Franklin, NC, with the Vietnam Veterans of America, Franklin VFW Post #7339 and American Legion Post #108 conducting military rites.
