Franklin - Jim Gross, age 83, of Franklin, NC passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Bledsoe, KY the son of the late Walter and Pearlina Burkhart Gross. He was a machine operator for Formica Corporation in Cinicinnati, OH and was a member of the Coweeta Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee. He had served as a former Sunday School Superintendent at Newman Chapel Baptist Church and served as a Deacon while in Cincinnati. He was a member of the Hoffner Masonic Lodge and a member of the OES in Cincinnati, OH. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jim loved gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Geneva Bowling Gross; three daughters, Darlene Poth of Cincinnati, OH, Regina Ceron of Franklin, NC and Terri Blair of Cincinnati, OH; one son, Dennis Baldwin Gross of Bledsoe, KY; one sister, Janie Maddox of Nebraska; two brothers, Paul Gross of Smith, KY and Jerry Gross of TN. Seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arden Gross, Walter Gross, Jr. and Frank Gross.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 2nd at 2:30 PM at Coweeta Baptist Church with Rev. Davis Hooper and Rev. Vic Greene officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Murphy, NC.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 2nd from 1:30-2:30PM, one hour prior to the service at Coweeta Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coweeta Baptist Church Building Fund, 780 Coweeta Church Road, Otto, NC 28763.
