Joann Gibson Shope

Rabun Gap GA - JoAnn Gibson Shope, 73, of The Rabun GAP Community passed away Friday September 05, 2014 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was the widow of Kent Shope. She was born November 28, 1940 in Franklin N.C., the daughter of the late Pink and Gladys Smith Gibson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kent Shope, and a brother John Gibson. She was a member of Blue Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Ricky Shope, and Jerry Shope wife Rhonda of Rabun Gap Ga.; two sisters Linda Holland and husband Tony of Black Mountain N.C., and Ruth Fountain of Mountain City Ga.; four Granddaughters, two Grandsons, six Great Grandchildrn and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at Eleven o’clock Monday September 8, 2014 at Blue Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Gabe Southards officiating. Burial will follow in the Wrights Cemetery Otto N.C.

The family will receive friends Sunday September 7, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Beck Funeral Home.
