Joe L. Burnett

Joe L. Burnett, 80, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2016. Mr. Burnett was born May 11, 1935 in Macon County to the late Harley and Minnie Welch Burnett.

He was a farmer during his life and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Christine Woodard of Sylva, NC; several nieces and nephews and close family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Buster Burnette, Don Burnett, Hobart Burnette, and Dover Burnette and two sisters, Edna Carnes and Shelba Jean Roper.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Branson officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the fellowship hall at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
