Johanna Runken

Johanna Becker Runken, 85, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 7, 2016. Mrs. Runken was born December 14, 1930 in Darmstadt, Germany to the late Henrich and Johanna D. Becker. She was a bookkeeper for many years and loved entertaining friends and family in her home. Mrs. Runken was a past member of the Scaly Mountain women’s club enjoying her time there.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Roy G. Runken.  Survivors include her three sons, Frederick B. Runken of Scaly Mountain, Michael Chris Runken and wife, Becki of Raleigh and Highlands, NC, and Jeffrey R. Runken and wife, Michaelle of Franklin, NC; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two-great-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Morrison Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Noah McIntee and Rev. Gene Price officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
