Johnnie Collins Tallent

Franklin, NC - Johnnie Collins Tallent, age 69, of Franklin, NC passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at a local hospital. She was born in Macon County, the daughter of the late John David and Helen Margaret Shepherd Collins. She was a nurse assistant for Smoky Mountain Health Care. She was a selfless loving mother and grandmother. She liked gardening, flowers, animals and fishing

She is survived by one daughter and caregiver, Debbie Tallent Coffey of Franklin, NC and one son, Jeff Tallent and wife Anna of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Jane Stamey of Franklin, NC and Cindy Jenkins and her husband J.J. of Greer, SC; one brother, Bill Collins and his wife Bobbie of Franklin, NC; one aunt Ann Shepherd of Franklin; five grandchildren, Leanna Shirley and husband Travis, Brenna Tallent, Chloe Tallent, Brooklyn Tallent and Jeffrey Tallent. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31 at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be held at Shepherd Cemetery. Billy Collins, Tony Collins, Bob Collins, Jeremy McConnell, Bill Smith and Tyson Stager will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday, December 30 from 6:00 8:00PM at Bryant Grant Funeral Home.
