Johnny Delis Stanfield, Sr., 78, of Franklin, NC, passed away Thursday, January 15th, 2026.
A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Elmer "Buddy" Stanfield and Martha Ellen Stanfield.
He was known by everyone for his love of motorcycles, mechanics, shooting pool, beekeeping, and any game that gave him a chance of winning "Big Money". He had beautiful blue eyes that never met a stranger. He genuinely loved life. For years he worked as a guard at the Highlands Country Club , he also drove big trucks for Rhodes Brothers an numerous other companies and took care of the Highlands square for John Lupolie
He is survived by his son, John D. Stanfield, Jr. (Tammy) of Franklin; his grandsons, JD and Christopher; a granddaughter, Chelsea; his great-grandchildren, Laila, Elowen, Siler, Cash, and Ace; and his nephews, Justin, Shawn, and Jeff.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; his sons, Michael and David Stanfield; his brothers, Ronnie and Elmer; and a sister, Katie Watts.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Grant Chapel at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Darrin Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 till 2:00 PM Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
