Joseph “J” Brooks
J passed from life on July 23, 2016 after a brave 4-year triumph following a double lung transplant in 2012. He was 66 years old. J moved to Highlands in 2010 after 30 years as owner/operator of Gainesville Kitchens Inc. in Gainesville, FL. J enjoyed working out at the Highlands Recreation Center and was a member of Holy Family Lutheran Church.
J is survived by his wife of 42 years, Julie Brooks. Daughters - Stacy MacMichael (husband Chris) and Lindsey Lescrinier (husband Andre). Granddaughter - Molly MacMichael.
A private service will be held at a later date.
