New York - Joseph William Halliday was born in New York City on August 9, 1938, and passed away on January 7, 2015. He was 76 years old.
Joe loved his family and is survived by his wife Vivian and daughters Kathy Langan and Mary Shaw. He graduated first in his class from Fordham University, where he earned his bachelor of arts degree and a full ride scholarship to Fordham University Law School, where he graduated cum laude and was editor-in-chief of the Fordham Law Review. Joe served his country in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of first lieutenant. Joe enjoyed an accomplished career as an attorney, focusing largely on banking at White and Case and later with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom, both in New York City.
He was an avid and accomplished sailor who served as rear commodore, vice commodore and commodore of Larchmont Yacht Club in Larchmont, NY. Joe loved music, dancing and entertaining family and friends, and he is deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.
