Joyce (Tallent) Calaway

Ms. Joyce Tallent Calaway, 82, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019.

Ms. Calaway was born in Macon County March 3, 1937 to the late William Temple Tallent and Margaret Kate Crawford Tallent.  Joyce worked and retired from J.P. Stevens Mill in Gaston County, NC after many years of service. She was of the Christian faith and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Ronnie J. Dills, Debbie Dills Brown (Ronnie), Sharon I. Davidson (Rocky), Karen I. Lowrance (Jeff), and Randell E. Irvin; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great- grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Baker; and a brother, Bob Tallent.

Ms. Calaway was preceded in death by a grandchild; 3 brothers, Jr. Tallent, Eddie Tallent, and Ricky Joe Tallent; and a sister, Bessie Tallent Rector.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.
