Joyce Emily (Sieffert) Harris

Joyce Emily Harris, age 98, of Franklin, NC, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016.  She was born in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of the late Clarence and Priscilla Sieffert.  She was a school teacher, teaching kindergarten, and avid quilter, and had been awarded quilter of the year for Smoky Mountain Quilters Guild.   Mrs. Harris was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a church worker.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great‑grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross L. Harris who passed away in 2000; son, David L. Harris who passed away in 1960, and brother, William Sieffert.   She is survived by her daughter, Gail Wooten (Robert) of Franklin, NC; son, Danny Harris of Flowery Branch, GA; four grandchildren and four great‑grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, August 1, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral with Rev. David Beam officiating.   The family will receive friends following the service.
