Judie (Parrish) Whitus

Judie Parrish Whitus, 76, passed away Wednesday, January 09, 2019. Ms. Whitus was born May 18, 1942 in Haywood County to the late, Loy Edwin Parrish and Laura Edna Jones Parrish.  Judie was a bookkeeper and accountant; she loved to play the piano, drawing, animals, the farms, and being outdoors looking at the mountains.  She was a member of the (DAR) Daughters of the American Revolution, and was Suma Cum Laude graduate from Tennessee Wesleyan College. She was a member of the Snow Hill United Methodist Church but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Whitus of Franklin; a son, David Whitus (Tracie) of McDonough, Ga;  four grandchildren, Michael Smith, Misty Wright, Christopher Whitus,  and Billy Burnley; five great-grandchildren, Kayla Hannah, Cameron Hannah, Mallory Whitus, Emily Burnley, and Ryan Burnley; a sister, Rachel Parrish Ohtani of Sylva, NC; and a brother, Thomas Jones Parrish of Franklin, NC.

Ms. Whitus was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Whitus; and a sister, Linda Parrish Hunsaker.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Snow Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. David DeWitt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Tom Parrish, Michael Smith, Chris Whitus, Jimmy Wright, Tommy Parrish, Cameron Hannah, Billy Burnley and Taketo Ohtani.
