Julia Ann (Burgess) Freeman

Julia Ann Burgess Freeman, 81, passed away October 9, 2024. Ms. Freeman was born September 1, 1943, in Macon County, NC to the late Carrie Penland and Charlie Burgess.

Julia attended Burgess Chapel as a devout Baptist who loved the Lord. A homemaker, Ms. Freeman was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and to watch her grandchildren play sports. Julia was a hard worker and always ready to speak her mind.

Ms. Freeman is survived by her daughter, Vickie Freeman; her grandchildren, Andre McDonald, Zakary McDonald (McKayla Turaville), Jordan Howell (Bailey Howell); great grandchildren, Dominique McDonald, Xavier and Peyton Turaville; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Ramona Freeman; her three sisters; and her five brothers.

Ms. Freeman's family will greet friends Monday, October 14, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with the Rev. Keyth Eddings officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Franklin, NC. Pallbearers will be Greg Hall, Tracy Wright, Kevin Burgess, Ryan Burgess, Eddie Burgess, and Charles Freeman.
